I took a pastel class with some friends at the Artworks gallery in Seneca Falls, NY. this past Saturday. Check out the website for more summer classes.

I haven’t used pastels since I was a kid. It needs more work. It’s fun to try new mediums. Gets me out of my comfort zone. Have you tried anything new lately? Pastel painting of our farmhouse

Our farmhouse…the south side

I was also responsible for running the gallery Saturday and sold one of my paintings. Yay! I love to meet who is buying my work. The lady who bought it said she was getting it for her son. She said the painting reminds her of Cape Cod where they often vacation. She wanted to know who bought the original. The painting is a picture of Adirondack chairs in the colors of the rainbow. I gave the original to my sister on the occasion of her wedding. I have a tradition of painting Adirondack chairs every summer just to challenge myself. What do you like to do to challenge yourself?

Some more pictures from our class. My friends Roseann and Phoebe came from Syracuse to take the class. What a fun day!

Sign up and take an art class this summer. Take some time out for yourself and be creative. Bring a friend. Life is good!
